The Line-up

Every story needs unforgettable characters — and this one is no exception. Welcome to the curious, clever, and slightly over-prepared world of The Fox, The Flap and the Forgotten Mince Pies, where each member of the cast plays a very important role in keeping the pies safe… or trying not to.

The Sly Villian

[a.k.a. “L”] – the sly villain with swagger to spare!

“Psst… don’t tell anyone, but I’m pretty sure “L” is short for Lucas.”

Flap.png

Flap

The Secret Door

A tiny doorway with a HUGE personality. To most people, it’s just a little flap for cats… but in this story, it’s the most mysterious, mischievous, and tempting entrance in the whole house. It wiggles, it swings, it creaks at all the wrong moments. It’s the place sneaky foxes dream about, and the spot Ollie watches like a hawk.

Olli Cover_edited.png

Ollie

The Guardian of Pies

The legendary British watcher of flaps, cracks, crumbs, and pies. Dressed in his trusty brown plaid bathrobe, cream shirt, blue pants, and glasses, he stands ready for anything. If there’s trouble near the pies, Ollie knows before the crumbs do.

SIEM-Phony

The Robotic Owl

Perched high above the garden sits SIEM-Phony — the all-seeing robotic owl with large, circular glowing eyes and feathers shaped like tiny circuits. She doesn’t just watch; she analyses. From wiggly fox whiskers to crumbs rolling downhill, nothing escapes her glowing gaze.

Pies

The Golden Pies

Small, sweet, and far too tempting for their own good. These pies may look innocent, but they’re the shining jewels of the house — the very reason sneaky foxes plot, alarms blink, and gnomes keep watch. Guard them well… because everyone wants just one little bite.

Gnomes Line Up.png

Gnomes

Our Heroic Gnomes

A group of little garden gnomes, red hat, white beard, blue shirt, with big

responsibilities. They stand proudly in the garden, frozen in place (or so they pretend), scanning for trouble with their painted eyes. When danger approaches, they send secret signals only Ollie understands. Never underestimate a gnome with a mission.

Ollie

“You shall not wobble!"

Fox

"I’m not done yet!"

SIEM-Phony

“Not today, fox!”

We All Love Pies!

Mince Pie

The mince pie has been a festive favourite in Britain for centuries. Its origins go back to medieval times, when “mince” pies were large, savoury dishes filled with chopped meat, dried fruits, spices, and wine. These ingredients were inspired by Middle Eastern flavours brought back by returning Crusaders, making the pie a symbol of celebration and abundance.

Over time, the recipe evolved. By the 18th and 19th centuries, meat gradually disappeared, leaving behind the sweet, spiced fruit mixture we know today as mincemeat. Mince pies became smaller, sweeter, and firmly associated with Christmas, often enjoyed during the Twelve Days of the festive season.

Today, mince pies are a beloved holiday tradition — a warm reminder of winter gatherings, shared stories, and a little bit of indulgence. Whether homemade or shop-bought, they remain a golden symbol of comfort, celebration, and traditions worth protecting.
